Olympus has adopted the 1080i standard for the EXERA II Universal Imaging Platform, which offers 1080 effective scanning lines of picture information and up to four times more resolution than conventional PAL or NTSC systems.

The EXERA II HDTV Universal Imaging Platform features NBI technology - the capability to enhance the the visbility of capiliaries and other delicate tissue surface structures.
